Bamboo Poles are still the most used construction material for any kind of short term events- Its the cheapest and has abundant supply and is also green
compliant. In order to construct a suitable structure, these
poles have to be cut and are generally cut from the
inherent joints they have. While this is perfectly a logical thing to do, it also leaves deep crevices that can easily hold more than 10 ml of fresh water. So whats with this 10ml of water one may wonder??? This 10 ml of water is a perfect breeding ground for the Aedes Aegypti female mosquito -responsible for the dreaded Dengue. This
mosguito lives for only 30 days with a weekly( every 7days) reproduction cycle. So in about a month , it is capable of laying 400 eggs ( 100 eggs per breeding day). Now isn’t that a gorgeous if not an unimaginable feat !?!
The image here is a close up shot taken during our Image Surveillance of one such paradise! I callit a paradise since most of us want to be there and now its right next to you!!This is also where Vector Control Programmes becomes inevitable considering the inaccessibility of these
